Will I need to have a vet exam done when I renew my policy
Requirements for a vet exam at renewal vary from policy to policy. As your policy gets closer to its expiration date, we encourage you to contact us to discuss whether you will need a vet exam to renew the policy.
What is "Major Medical"?
Major Medical is an endorsement that will provide reimbursement for covered vet fees, including surgical and major illnesses. Each company has specific terms and exclusions for its major medical endorsement, so we encourage to contact us to discuss what kind of major medical is the right fit for you.

Please note that major medical cannot be purchased as a standalone item. It can only be added to a mortality policy.

What is the difference between "limited mortality" and "full mortality"?
Whether a policy is "limited mortality" or "full mortality" depends on the types of perils covered. As the names suggest, a limited mortality policy typically covers a more limited set of perils than a full mortality policy. Please refer to your policy for a definitive list of the perils covered by that policy. If you still have additional questions, please contact us to discuss.
Can I insure a foal?
Foals can be insured at 24 hours after birth, for mortality only. After a certain number of days, major medical or surgical endorsements can be added as well; the exact date depends on the insurance carrier. Rates are higher for young horses, so contact us for more details.
